CASS CERTIFICATION

Coding Accuracy Support System is a computerized process that standardizes addresses, conforming them to standards set by the USPS. This process adds the information needed to create a Postnet barcode.  It also produces form 3553, which is required for mailing at automation rates.

Data Capture

The extraction of the user's data from the form to be processed. There are three types of data caputre processing:

Automated Data Capture - Forms are processed through a high speed Optical Character Recognition (OCR) scanner. Rejects are keyed from an image or paper.

Barcoding - Forms are read by means of a preprinted barcode

Data Entry

A service that provides the inputing of a list of items, numbers, or other data into computer spreadsheet.  Some examples of data sources include customer's personal information (addresses), medical records, and membership lists.

EIS

Ehanced Imaging Services provides data entry and document conversion that is cost competitive, faster, and more secure than traditional outsourcing or in-house processing for data entry application alternatives.

Key Coding

To assign a specific code to an address or other data for the purpose of identifing the source when returned.

NCOA

National Change of Address - a service offered through designated suppliers whereby a mailer can have his/her mailing list matched against the National Change of Address USPS databases for updating addresses.

2D Symbology

A 2D barcode is a very compact method of storing data, allowing for more information in less space - the size typically ranges from 1/10th to 1/4 of an inch. There is an extremly high percentage of accurancy and reliability, and, can be scanned from any direction.
